prostrate

I shine as bright as that
little white envelope
lighting up beside your name
and draped in transparency
I offer what's left of me
prostrate on a platter
of impious and purposeless
prayer.

It's nice to see a new poem here ... this one is very fascinating! My brain is doing summersaults.

THanks Matt! Yeah, I wish more poems would reveal themselves to me. :-)

I really like this! It took me a while, but I finally worked out that it's about an e-mail from someone you love so much that you don't care who knows how excited you are to get a message from him.
Anyway, that's my interpretation because it reminds me of how I used to feel about getting messages from a certain person.
